“Stranded by Choice” starts off in 2006 by the meeting of 2 tightrope walkers: Soledad Prieto in arts “Petrovska” from Argentina, and Valentin “L’Astronauta”, giving life to an eccentric project:
The fusion of the different styles and approaches of the tight rope in the research to present their art not merely as a technical demonstration, but with the intention to create an authentic theatre space, where the life of the characters gives the motivation for the action on the tight rope.
The range of the expressive means, tight rope, acrobatics, music and theatre compose a real “piece téâtrale”.
A stage long and subtle as a steel cable maintains the choice to accept the risk of falling, as well as in every day life, finding the right balance is due to constant research.
“Stranded” is not meaning to have given up, but to find a place from where to start again.
The duo “Los Filonautas” is created by the fusion of “Compagnia dell’Astronauta” and Petrovska (www.petrovska.net) and participates beginning from 2007 in festivals and events of street theatre in Europe, mostly in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Croatia.
The last version of the performance was created in Fall 2009 and Winter 2010 with the direction of Giovanni Dispenza (Italy) .
Collaboration in the phase of creation with Luca Clarioni (Italy), Marie-Anne Kergoet (France), Stefano Corrina (Italy).
Valentin proudly presents:
“Travel into Space”
After having set up meticulously his astro-physical laboratory
in the public square Professor Zweistein (Valentin) introduces
the annual conference on space research with a fantastic, nearly
scientific speech on modern science, which leads immediately
to a long series of experiments, where Professor Zweistein is
illustrating the long way of modern science from its beginning
until nowadays. From experiment to experiment, Professor Zweistein,
tenacious and inexhaustible in his scientific mission, succeeds
to finally climb onto his spaceship with the help and complicity
of his audience.
He flies into space, explores the absence of gravity and finding
his way back to the ground, he has to realize ”We succeeded
travelling to space, but the earth….?”
The astro-physical laboratory includes the following “technologies”:
• Juggling
• Acrobatics
• Slackrope
• Tightrope
• Unicycle
• Comedy
• Audience participation
• Music from out of space
And a few other highly surprising avant-garde discoveries ……
A highly amusing show fusing clown humour and intuition with
the necessary clearness of tightrope walking.
